His research investigated how experienced osteopaths make clinical decisions and the different approaches that they take when examining, treating and managing patients during their day-to-day practice. Oliver is an internationally renowned lecturer and researcher, and has authored several papers that have been published in peer-reviewed research journals. He is also a peer-reviewer for several research journals and is an Associate Editor for the International Journal of Osteopathic Medicine.
In addition to BodyMatters Clinic, Oliver also works as an Associate Professor at the University College of Osteopathy, where he leads the undergraduate and postgraduate osteopathy students and supervises research projects. Oliver is currently involved in a few research studies investigating low back pain, clinical reasoning and expertise in osteopathy, and lectures in the UK and abroad on postgraduate courses and conferences. Combined, these activities enable him to keep up to date with the most recent research in back pain, osteopathy and manual therapy.
Oliver integrates research evidence into all aspects of his clinical practice and takes a friendly patient-centred approach to his practice, which results in effective pain relief and a return to normal movement. He offers a wide range of treatments including highly-skilled manipulation and manual therapy of joints and soft tissues, acupuncture, self-management advice and exercise therapy.
