MASSAGE THERAPY

DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE

Swedish Massage back London NW3 (1)

Deep Tissue Massage

This treatment uses deep manual therapy techniques of the soft tissue (muscles, ligaments and fascia) to improve the elasticity and flexibility of muscular and connective tissue (such as ligaments and fascia). Deep tissue is an excellent way to soothe sore and tight muscles, release stubborn muscular knots and increase blood flow to ensure a healthy musculoskeletal system.

Who is Deep Tissue Massage for?

The stresses and strains of modern day-to-day life means it’s common for pain and tension to develop in key areas of the body such as the neck, back, shoulders and hips. Deep tissue massage is one of our most popular massage therapies, and benefits anyone from busy mums to serious athletes.

What is Deep Tissue Massage like?

At BodyMatters Clinic, our highly skilled therapists will use their well-developed sense of touch (called palpation) to feel for areas of tightness, tension, pain and tenderness. They will use deeper pressure to restore normal movement of soft tissues and reduce sensitivity of tender sore areas of your body.

Deep Tissue Massage Techniques

Our therapists may decide to focus on specific areas that they decide (with you), are important problem areas to address (for example the shoulders or back) or treatment may be ‘full body’ to create a more general effect on your musculoskeletal system. Depending upon the pressure required and the area treated, therapists will use their hands, fingers, elbows and knuckles to deliver deeply soothing techniques. Before any treatment your therapist will talk in depth with you about your medical health and any areas and issues that you feel require attention so that treatment can be tailored to you.
