Alessio Gessa, BSc in Physiotherapy
Born and raised in Italy, Alessio graduated from University of Genoa with a BSc in Physiotherapy. After working at a number of musculoskeletal physiotherapy clinics, he moved to the UK to continue his clinical career, while at the same time expanding his knowledge and skills at the University College of Osteopathy, London; where he is completing a Master’s degree in Osteopathy.
With a strong background in sport (cyclist, runner and triathlete), Alessio has developed a deep interest in musculoskeletal injury rehabilitation, with a particular focus on endurance activities.
He had a keen passion for supporting people to achieve the best in their life in terms of function, and he applies this philosophy to a wide variety of conditions including lower limb (ankle and knee) injuries, and back, neck and shoulder pain.
His approach, based on the most recent research evidence, includes manual therapy (soft tissue massage and joint manipulation), rehabilitative exercise prescription, acupuncture (dry-needling), and lifestyle advice to help patients reduce their pain and prevent future injuries.
Alessio is registered with the Health Care Professional Council (HCPC), as well as a member of the Charted Society of Physiotherapist (CSP).
